Responsible for the ongoing development, implementation, maintenance and support of the End User Computing Virtual Desktop Infrastructure environment. Receives general supervision from the Team Leader, Manager or Director.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Design, create and maintain stable, optimized Windows 10 images.
Configure persistent and non-persistent virtual desktops.
Create and maintain desktop pools.
Connection Server Management and Configuration.
vCenter and Platform Services Controller(PSC) Management and Configuration.
VMware vSAN Management and Configuration.
AppVolumes Management and Configuration.
Vmware Unified Access Gateway (UAG) Management and Configuration.
VMware Unified Environment Management (UEM) Management and Configuration.
Creates and maintains engineering level system documentation and develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for VDI Environment.
Provides technical support, incident and request management utilizing Service Management solution.
Works with Application Owners to install or virtualize applications in the Virtual Desktop environment.
Performs other duties as required or assigned.
COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:
Advanced working experience with Windows 10 Operating System.
Experience with VMware desktop virtualization technology.
Experience creating engineering level documentation and diagrams.
Demonstrates the ability to learn and work independently. Must be able to handle on-call situations and be available 24 hours a day while serving on-call.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Systems or equivalent experience required.
Minimum six years general Information Technology experience with minimum four years’ experience in direct support of software and hardware products required.
