Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center is searching for an outcome driven Healthcare Data Analyst to support our Orthopaedics Administration team!
The Healthcare Data Analyst, Orthopaedics Administration is responsible for customer-focused reporting, analysis, and data visualization, providing support to the leadership of the Academic Practice Division of the Penn State Health System. In addition, the analyst facilitates the development and maintenance of data collection, analysis, and reporting of internal and external information to assist leadership in making sound business decisions.
The Healthcare Data Analyst selected for this vital role will promote data integrity through using and developing standard based measures and will be tasked with data preparation for submission of data to national and specialty registries as well as creating functional department dashboards to present to department leadership.

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Science, Healthcare Management, or related field. Three (3) years of experience in data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team structure.
Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, graphing, macros and VBA scripting). Understanding of relational databases and querying techniques (e.g. SQL).
MBA/MHA preferred. Experience with Cerner EMR preferred.
Experience with Qlik (BI Analytics tool) is advantageous.
Experience in and/or understanding of the academic healthcare environment is a plus.
Process improvement experience is desirable.
