Summary:

Responsible for maintaining the organizational work flow within the department. Duties include, but are not limited to communicating with patients and physician offices to coordinate patient schedules within the outpatient department for physical, occupational and speech therapy. Coordinates patient flow within the department to provide a smooth continuum of care.



Qualifications:
Educational Requirements:

Demonstrates ability in medical terminology and use of word processing & patient management systems. Able to read, write and speak English. High school graduate or equivalent.

Experience required:

One year of secretarial experience in a health care setting preferred. Experience with word processing, patient management systems and medical terminology preferred. Ability to type 45-50 wpm. Familiarity and use of maintenance of general office equipment. Knowledge of office policies, procedures and protocols.

Interpersonal relationships:

Communicates effectively and professional with patients, families, visitors, co-workers and physicians and other employees in a manner, which protects patients confidentiality. Coordinates services with other offices and departments both internally and externally, providing information in a timely, accurate and effective manner. Promotes a courteous, efficient and professional image to internal and external providers.
