University Medical Partners (UMP) formed in January 2017 by physicians currently practicing within several separate medical groups in the Bay Area to create a unified multi-specialty physician practice and clinical network that will serve as an exemplar for the delivery of high-quality health services in the Bay Area. UMP Practitioners deliver care at clinics operated by University Healthcare Alliance (UHA), a medical foundation affiliated with Stanford University throughout the Bay Area. POSITION TITLE: Director: Provider Relations and HR Business Partner REPORTS TO: CAO/COO Medical Group PURPOSE STATEMENT: As a member of the UMP Management Services Team, the Director of Provider Relations and HR Business Partner is a director level position that is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across other members/departments of the management services team (employment services, compensation, performance incentives management, etc.) to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. This role maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's financial position, its midrange plans, its culture and its competition. The role reflects and supports the mission, vision, values and philosophy of the organization which is to deliver on the promise of Precision Health and Wellness to our patients, their families, and the community we serve. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential duties of this position include the following (other duties may be assigned): Employee Relations • Meets with regional/service line chiefs weekly and other medical group leaders as appropriate. • Consults with front line physician leaders, providing HR guidance when appropriate. • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. • Conducts and provides day-to-day performance management guidance to physician site leaders (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). • Develops thorough documentation of investigations and recommendations/resolutions to issues. • Conflict resolution, advising, handling leave of absence and other leave issues. • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. • Maintains in-depth knowledge of employment requirements/guidelines related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required. • Tracks all pertinent employment/labor related issues for the medical group to resolution. •Leadership Development and Coaching •Employment Expertise/Design/Operations •Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the rest of the UMP management services team to develop solutions, programs and policies. •Addresses workplace related COVID-19 questions and updates on state and local rules. •Develops and appropriately document the infrastructure for effective management of function and associated responsibilities. •Provides HR/employment, policy guidance and interpretation. •Develops contract terms and/or notices to medical group • Develop and deliver effective leadership coaching program for medical group leadership in addressing people related issues.

Assist in the development of indicators, thresholds, study methods and data collection as assigned. Respond to problems/opportunities to improve care/customer service. Experience and qualifications: 1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field 2. Must have experience as HR Business Partner for a Medical Group or related healthcare industry/organization in the State of California for at least 3 years 3. Excellent customer service, written and communication skills (must provide some samples). 4. Have some organizational development and leadership training experience and background. 5. Great attention to detail and accuracy of information. 6.
