THIS POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE BROCKTON, MA CAMPUS, GERIATRICS & EXT CARE Service Line APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS: RESUME and TRANSCRIPTS Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm Financial Disclosure Report: Not required The VA Boston Healthcare System is seeking a Not to Exceed September 30, 2022 full-time Physical Therapist (PT) for the Geriatrics and Extended Care Service. This position will be located at the Brockton Campus with primary assignment in the Community Living Center (CLC). The primary function of this position is to lead delivery of an innovative clinical demonstration project that includes inpatient PT care, as well as telehealth-delivered care after the Veteran discharges from the CLC. Incumbent will also provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of patients at the CLC referred for PT. The physical therapist will be expected to have recent experience treating adult/older adult patients with a variety of medical conditions, both simple and complex. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: patient assessment, intervention, training and education; remain current on latest advances in PT; assist with the coordination, planning, organizing and directing the day to day inpatient PT clinic operations; maintain clinic supplies and equipment specific to inpatient PT programming. Incumbent must have independence with ability to make autonomous clinical decisions in a Direct Access environment, including the ability to independently evaluate and treat patients who seek physical therapy services. A more detailed position description is available in Human Resources Management Service. NOTIFICATIONS: This position is in the Excepted Service. This position is an NAGE Bargaining Unit position. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Selectee will be required to complete additional forms to proceed with employment process. This position is covered by locality-based comparability pay. Selectee may be required to work at any Boston Healthcare System campus, as needed. Travel and relocation expenses are not authorized. The incumbent may be required to travel to other VA campuses and CBOC's. Current and former Federal employees must submit copies of their most recent SF-50, (Notice of Personnel Action). The SF-50 must identify the position title, series, grade, step, tenure and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). In some cases, more than one SF-50 may be required to show a higher grade previously held. Drug Testing Position: Applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment. Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test result is received. This position may be eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan reimbursement program. To participate in the program, you must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA Policy 1021 and submit your application within four months of appointment. The final award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) is determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office and dependent on available funding.
