Faculty Physician – PM&R – Traumatic Brain Injury (Assistant or Associate Professor – Academic or Master Clinician Track)

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), at the University of Minnesota is recruiting a full-time physiatrist specializing in brain injury medicine (BIM).

Our department facilitates high-quality education, research, and clinical services through our four divisions, Adult Neuropsychology, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science.

About the Appointment:

• We are seeking a dynamic and energetic professional who desires to be a part of the M Health Fairview multi-disciplinary, patient-centered, concussion program.
• Academic track and rank to be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and interests.
• Additional responsibilities will include participation in the teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows, clinical practice through MPhysicians, and participation in service activities on behalf of the department, the medical school, and your profession.
• Work with the Rehabilitation Medicine Concussion/BIM program director, neuroscience service line, and providers within the M Health Concussion/BIM program to forge partnerships,
• Outpatient clinical practice.
• Inpatient consultation coverage at the University of Minnesota Medical Center (UMMC)-East Bank and West Bank, as well as other affiliated sites.
• Coverage at M Health Fairview Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC) as part of the call pool ad coverage for vacations.
• Working with APP’s and trainees (medical students, residents, fellows, visiting students, and other allied health professionals) in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Highly qualified candidates who are committed to excellent patient care, possess strong clinical skills, have outstanding interpersonal skills, and have an interest in education and scholarly activity are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:

• Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) residency training program
• Candidates must be board-certified or board eligible with the American Board of PM&R (ABPM&R) in PM&R and BIM
• Candidate must be eligible to obtain a Minnesota Board of Medical Practice license; and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
• Applicants must possess the leadership skills to manage change and communicate effectively in a rapidly expanding department. Enthusiasm, a collaborative nature, and an interest in cultivating a thriving academic medical spine practice are essential to the success of the department and M Health Fairview’s Spine Program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience collaborating with individuals across multiple departments, practices, and health systems.
