Occ Summary
Independently plan and provide professional nursing care for patients inaccordance with physician orders and establ ishedpolicies andprocedures. Provide nursing services to patients and fa milies inaccordance with the scope of the RN as defined by the NorthCar olinaBoard of Nursing.Nurses hired into this limited benefited classific ationwill commit towork a minimum number of hours in a designated inpati entnursingdepartment. Compensation is a flat rate that is based on yearsofexperience.
Work Performed
Plan, provide, supervis e and document professional nursing careutilizing the nursing process fo r patients in accordance with physicianorders and established policies a ndprocedures. Use professional nursingjudgment to individualize the plan ofcare based on assessment of thepatient's baseline needs and response tocare.Delegate tasks and supervise the activities of other licensed and unlicensed care providers.Assist other nursing personnel in the delivery of nursing care and actas team leader or charge nurse for a group of pat ients or an entire unitas assigned.Monitor and initiate corrective actio nto maintain the environment ofcare including equipment and material res ources.Participate in own professional development by maintaining requir edcompetencies, identifying learning needs and seeking appropriateassist ance or educational offerings.Act as preceptor and support the developme nt of other staff and formallearners.Participate in the identificationof clinical or operational performanceimprovement opportunities and inperfo rmance improvement activities.Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Currently listed as a Nursing Assistant I (NAI) with the Division of Facility Services with no substantiated findings of abuse, fraud, neglect or misappropriation of property. BCLS certification must be maintained/completed by the end of new hire orientation, which typically takes place during the first week of employment.
