The UCLA Santa Monica Hospital is seeking to hire a full-time Sr. Orthopaedic Technician to join our Orthopaedic Surgery Department. You will providing assistance to patients and physicians in the full scope of Orthopaedic services. Primary duties include:
- Interviewing and reviewing patient’s medical history and ensure documentation is completed
- Fitting, applying, adjusting, removing, repairing, wedging, and windowing of casts (may be of plaster, fiberglass, or synthetic materials)
- Applying, adjusting, and removing of braces, splints (knee, elbow, ankle, Pavlik, etc)
- Removing sutures and staples
- Assisting in OR as first assistant or scrub tech
- Completing routine patient care tasks so physicians and other clinic staff can attend to other clinical and administrative functions.
- Other administrative tasks as assigned
Please note: the work schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 11am-8pm
Salary Range: $32.77/hr - $43.21/hr
Orthopaedic Technician Certification (NBCOT or ASOP)
Minimum 2 years of experience working in a hospital, clinic, or medical office setting with orthopaedic patients
Previous cast/splinting experience
Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Ability to triage medical problems within scope of job responsibilities
Ability to work as part of a team, establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with all staff members, management, and the public
Strong communication skills (verbally and writing)
Skill in working independently and prioritizing assignments
