Location: Jay Hospital in Portland, IN. This location is based inside of the hospital and provides both IP and OP therapy services. Therapists may be asked to split time between IP and OP depending on volumes.

Shift: This position is a PRN and shifts will be on an as needed basis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Provides occupational therapy services for the treatment of physical and psychological dysfunctions. Provides direct patient care using a variety of sensorimotor, functional, educational, recreational, and social activities designed to help patients regain physical or mental functioning. Appropriately supervises occupational therapy assistants, support personnel and students. Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations. Provides services for inpatient and outpatient. There is a great team of therapists in this facility with many opportunities to learn from colleagues.

Outpatient OT and PT including neuro rehabilitation, orthopedics, and vestibular rehabilitation are among the services offered here.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in treating neurological and orthopedic conditions is preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail
• Great bedside manners
• Adaptable to fast paced settings

* Requires graduation from an accredited academic program in occupational therapy, or graduation from an international occupational therapy education program with coursework accepted by Indiana PLA. Current certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred. Requires current license in the State of Indiana. Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
